Yes it's sad that it takes up so much space, but that is why many wind power plants are being put out to sea. While this is not ideal, it at least doesn't clutter landscapes. Either way it is still a better alternative than coal fired power until we're all sporting flux capacitors, berilium spheres or tachyon powered energy sources.
